“...We believe that a dramatic extension of personal freedom would create a more peaceful, tolerant and wealthy society...” “We believe that Britain’s centralised state has failed to adapt to the 21st century – and shows no sign of being capable of doing so.” "We seek a rapid, substantial and permanent transfer of power away from politicians and bureaucrats directly to the citizens of our country.” “We live in one of the most exciting times in history, enjoying the benefits of centuries of innovation and technological advance. Our aim is to encourage, stimulate, engage in, contribute to and lead a serious debate about how people can make the most of these opportunities.” “Although we are critical of the status quo, we are not pessimists about the future.”
We believe that many of society’s problems are either directly caused by the centralised state or could be better tackled by ordinary people. We therefore seek a rapid, substantial and permanent transfer of power away from politicians and bureaucrats directly to the citizens of our country. We believe that Britain’s centralised state has failed to adapt to the 21st century – and shows no sign of being capable of doing so. We do not recoil from challenging institutions that have long been regarded as wise, benevolent and natural. In many areas – including health, education, housing and transport – the systems and approaches used today are little different from those used more than half a century ago, and no more effective. We are frustrated by the opinion-poll driven culture of mainstream party politics, which we believe is proving to be a real barrier to implementing the serious reforms required in Britain and the European Union. Progressive Vision is not affiliated to any political party. We do not seek election to public office. The arguments we put and the ideas we advocate will never be based on what we think you want to hear. Although we are critical of the status quo, we are not pessimists about the future. We live in one of the most exciting times in history, enjoying the benefits of centuries of innovation and technological advance. Our aim is to encourage, stimulate, engage in, contribute to and lead a serious debate about how people can make the most of these opportunities. If you agree with us, please join us.

08/03/2010 Shane Frith, director of Progressive Vision, appeared on BBC Radio Wales to discuss the public sector strike. He claimed all three main parties were being cowardly over refusing to tell the public exactly how big the spending cuts would have to be. 8/03/2010 26/02/2010
25/02/2010 Shane Frith, Director of Progressive Vision, appears on the BBC Radio Worcester Breakfast Show discussing the report into the failings of Stafford Hospital. He argued that the families of the patients of Stafford knew that their hospital was failing, but were unable to go elsewhere because of the lack of choice in a centralised, bureaucratic system. 21/02/2010 |
